Trends...Military Styles

The Hot Trend lately has been the military gear. From the 4 star General shirts and Jackets, to embroidered stripe ladies denim, this style was definitely started in the streets when the mentality was,.... "its a war going on outside" (Mobb Deep, circa 1996), and has been transforming into items like colored camo (Blue?? could neva rock it), to Hispanic Che Gevuera shirts/hats, to form T's with logos and sayings on the front (ahem, A la the pic on this blog) to the current styles. Designers kept didn't go over board with the tight clothing thats out now, and reminded somewhat true with a somewhat loose, rugged style but a little trimmer fits especially so the ladies can rock it, and added some hot embroidery, stars, and a little different colors outside of blue, green, and tan. Peep the transition.....

Remember this?

Trends...Louie V to Palestinian freedom fighters

Ok, So I'm chyming in on the new this accessory trend for rappers in the game rocking Louie Vuitton over there head AND that Palestinian scarf hybrid that all the preppy street kids are rocking.

The leader of the pack with the Louie Scarf thing.....Juelz Santana! Now hold up, not the same Juelz singing "Santana's Town", "This Is What the Games Been Missing", "Murda, Murda" thug rapper that used to rock the bandana head gear tilted like it was the 'isht'.....

Now, he's rocking this...!!?

Silky smooth Louie Vuitton draped over his head. LMAO. Damn you hard, son! WTF!?!!?....What would your hood say!?!? Nah, actually his hood prolly diggin it cuz he gettin that bread and we know Harlem is about showing the flashy side whenever possible. But that is lookin kinda soft...

The PLO Movement would ride on these kids rocking the fake Palestinian Liberation Organization scarfs....and now tryna make a profit off it.

On My Style's High Style, we believe that many styles from the street, ghettos, garrisons, and grassroots movements stay gettin' taken advantage of by marketing and promotions machines...Yeah color, and add in extra style to your gear is always promoted..but not at the expense other people's culture without showing some form of respect...

Not cool...think I'm crazy? Check it out at a mall near you.... No Plug (MSHS version of "No homo) available at"American 'something or other'":

LL COOL J clothing line Keeps it Real

LL Cool J's "Todd Smith clothing line" is aight, I've seen it up in Macy's,...but he explains why he chose to be in Sears vs. some expensive clothing boutiques. I ain't been to Sears in a minute, but since I've been reminicing about the gear from back in the day a little bit, I remember them days going to Sears to get sneakers and jeans. Who didn't buy Lee's, Levi's and Adidas at Sears?!?!

Some of his spring line...

My Style's High Style...

On this site, "All style is being true to yourself" and expressing yourself whether it started in the Hood, the UK, the Caribbean or wherever. Back in the days it was about hitting the block, school, parties, and looking like your the 'ish'! Urban culture/Hip-Hop Culture was always about being the most creative, being the most original, having the most flavor and being set apart from anybody else. At the same time, we all wanted to fit in, get those new Adidas after RUN DMC rocked them on stage with no laces, or the New Jordan's even before MJ had a ring because there was nobody like him in his game, or the chic who is rocking the tightest Sergio Velente Jeans when. Some of us even go so far as to buy the knock-offs (as long as nobody can tell the difference). Some of us can't rock the newest heels, sneakers, tops, t-shirts or brand name suits. But, that won't stop us from being original with what we could get.

Today everybody still wants to set themselves apart, by either looking for the most off the wall designed sneakers, jeans, that isn't necessarily the most highly promoted accessory. If you ever saw a style that somebody was wearing and thought, 'damn, I never hear of that brand name dress she wearing but that is fly as hell!' or 'I didn't even know a UK brand of clothing could be soon cool, so hood, so grown at the same time.' Yes, styles have changed and being original has actually become easier with so many more types of gear that you can rep AND can rep you! The style game has expanded with your favorite artists representing you through music they release, but also in the style of clothes they wear. From the streets to couture fashion (I just learned what this word really means after a fashion show last year), the options of having style are endless! Look good feel good. So, enough skylarking, nuh linga. You and me, let's get our style on here.... Let's get it!Retweet this button on every post blogger
